  • Interesting to see that Linden will offer grid software or grid servers as they call them. Perhaps they will offer them for sale for 2000 USD and when people got their grid up and running they will increase the tier fees by 70 % after a few months, and then they will say, either you pay up or we will shut down the grid you bought from us. That is how they work.
  • Maybe you joined Second Life exactly when they messed up the Openspace prices.
    However, they didn't say "we will shut down the grid" - they say "your region will cost more, pay or leave it".
  • Interesting. Maybe it is much easier than working with one grid with many location server system, but grids located many places and separated each other. Could be nice for performance and business use.
  • hmmm nice to see the standalone servers.. its something good to tech guys but will it able to survive the recession of the market...
  • Would be pretty sweet to have my own grid! Anyone know what the server hardware requirements are?
