  • Keep up the good work. This is fantastic. I like your video.
  • Coming from the world of Webex, Sametime and other virtual conferencing tools, I found this SL toy rather interesting, but hardly competitive with those professional products. Of course, this one is free, which will appeal to some I'm sure.

Like all things Second Life, you CAN use it, but at first you'll need an extensive crib sheet of exactly what things to do, in what order, to make it work. For example, you can't just use a powerpoint file. Instead, you have to convert your powerpoint slides to jpgs, then move them into a very specific directory. Furthermore, the system only runs if the presentation tool (the laptop object) belongs to the owner of whatever land you're standing on. While a sad and necessary part of "life" in SL, it is nevertheless a nuisance to anyone who just wants to visit someone and make a presentation. Then, of course, there is the learning curve of SL itself, should you be a newbie to virtual worlds.
  • Not quite correct, Arnold. Only the video side of things needs the laptop to be owned or deeded. The slides work fine without needing that.
